Willow / Saille is part of the Ogham Tree Alphabet series. I started with a drawing of the willow tree, known in the ancient Irish tree alphabet as Saille. The colors are inspired by Van Gogh’s Self Portrait with Bandaged Ear, focusing on yellow greens, blue greens, cream, and red-orange. Some of my favorite shapes appear here, though the willow makes them seem sort of spooky. Click on painting image to purchase.
